Complaining to the Data Protection Board: What You Can Do Now

Complaints to the Data Protection Board of India are part of the DPDP Act's sections that are scheduled to start on 13 May 2027.

Until then, here is what you can do:

Step 1: Write to the company through its privacy or grievance contact. Keep a copy of what you sent and the date.

Step 2: If it does not reply, write again, and keep that record too.

Step 3: For marketing calls and SMS, register on DND: send "FULLY BLOCK" to 1909.

Step 4: If you have lost money to fraud, call 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in.

When the Board opens complaints, it will publish how to file one. This guide will change when it does.
